A home complete with a swimming pool can be an amazingly rewarding purchase for a family with kids - or even just adults who love to relax poolside! Buying a pool that has already been built (and paid for) by a previous owner is also the most cost-effective way to own your own pool that you and your family can enjoy for years.

The reasons home buyers get inspections for existing homes are also the same reasons home buyers and their agents shouldn't fail to perform a pool inspection as well.

Pools are almost always assets to a home that provide not just enjoyment, but monetary value to a home as well. But in some cases, an existing pool that has been built improperly or not maintained over the years can actually become a liability costing new homeowners thousands of dollars in unexpected expenses.
